TUBBY YURI NEEDS MORE SPACE NOW

IF you want to put on weight, get into orbit. Just ask the world’s first Spaceman, Major Yuri Gagarin. Since he came back from Space, Gagarin has developed a double chin and put on more than a stone in weight, said Moscow newspapers yesterday.

Yuri had been out of circulation for the past two weeks. It was reported that he had a bad attack of flu.

But he turned up at the Congress yesterday—he is a delegate—and showed no ill effects.

A new mineral discovered in Eastern Kazakhstan has been named “gagurinite” in his honour said Tass, the Soviet news agency.
